Pelvic Health Specialist & Clinical Pilates
About Me
Hello,
I am Cindy Iffland, a specialist pelvic health physiotherapist and I practice from my home clinic in Thames Ditton, Surrey. I am also able to offer appointments in the comfort of your own home in (but not exclusive to) Thames Ditton, Esher, Surbiton, Kingston, East Molesey, Walton-on-Thames, Chessington, Oxshott and Cobham.
I trained as a physiotherapist in my native country, South Africa, where I obtained my Physiotherapy Honours degree in 2000 before moving to the UK later that year. I have worked in various NHS and private settings before pursuing the specialist field of pelvic health in 2010.
Pelvic health problems are incredibly common, yet unfortunately there seems to be a lack of awareness of the help and treatments available in addition to problems in this area still often being regarded as embarrassing. Spreading the word about the benefits of addressing any pelvic health concerns and improving awareness of this field of health are some of my greatest passions and I would love to see this area of health be regarded as a priority.
I offer treatment for urogynaecological conditions such as prolapse, urinary urgency and incontinence as well as pelvic floor conditions including vulval pain, sexual concerns and bowel problems. I also treat women for back, pelvic girdle and coccyx pain both during pregnancy as well as after giving birth. I am deeply passionate about women’s recovery after having a baby and love to help rehabilitate them to be able to return to activities that they love to do, safely.
I am registered with the Health Professions Council (HCPC – Registration number: PH59658) am a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) as well as an affiliate member of the professional network Pelvic Obstetric and Gynaecological Physiotherapy (POGP). I am a Mummy MOT practitioner and am able to offer a full Mummy MOT assessment. I am also trained in rehabilitative Pilates.
